  507. 1.  The new 3000 series DATs contained in VirusScan v3.0.2
  508.     are not backward compatible with the VirusScan v2.x
  509.     series. The 3000 series DATs should not be used with
  510.     VirusScan v2.x products.

  512. 2.  When using the Microsoft Plus Pack for scheduled 
  513.     scans with VirusScan for Windows 95, the command-
  514.     line call to VIRUSCAN95\SCAN95.EXE must be changed
  515.     to VIRUSCAN\SCAN32.EXE to maintain your scheduled 
  516.     scan functionality.
  517.  
  518. 3.  On some systems, after running the VirusScan for
  519.     Windows 95 uninstaller, the right mouse click option 
  520.     to "Scan for Viruses" is not always removed.

  522. 4.  Windows 95 no longer requires MS-DOS memory managers.
  523.     Using MS-DOS memory managers may cause VirusScan for
  524.     Windows 95 to falsely detect viruses in memory. To
  525.     eliminate false warnings, remark (Rem) the memory 
  526.     manager lines from your CONFIG.SYS to deactivate them.

  528. 5.  ScreenScan's log file has a maximum size of 100K. If
  529.     the file reaches this size, the oldest data will be
  530.     deleted. To retain logging data, you should edit the
  531.     content to keep the log file under 100K or save the
  532.     oldest data to another file.

  534. 6.  ScreenScan is designed to display the Centralized
  535.     Alerting and Reporting settings as declared in the
  536.     DEFAULT.VSC file. Actual configuration of ScreenScan
  537.     Centralized Alerting and Reporting must be done

  539.     Asked Questions section below.

  541. 7.  ScreenScan will stop scanning after it detects a 
  542.     virus and prompt you to launch VirusScan. If you have
  543.     additional viruses on your system, ScreenScan will not
  544.     notify you until the next time it activates. McAfee
  545.     recommends that you scan and clean your entire system
  546.     with VirusScan whenever ScreenScan detects a virus.

  548. 8.  After uninstalling ScreenScan, the screen saver will
  549.     be set to None. You can reactivate your screen saver
  550.     from the Display Properties.

  552. 9.  If using CTRL+ALT+DEL to shut down a Windows 95 system

  560.     open windows to the floppy drives. The Emergency Disk

  598. * PERFORMING A SILENT INSTALLATION *

  600. If you would like to perform a "silent" installation
  601. of VirusScan, requiring minimal user interaction and
  602. using all default or "Typical" installation settings,
  603. add -s (i.e. SETUP.EXE -s) to the setup command when
  604. you install the product.
  605.  
  606. Network Administrators can customize the silent
  607. installation feature by following the steps outlined
  608. below.
  609.  
  610. 1.  Check in the Windows directory to ensure that a
  611.     file named SETUP.ISS does not already exist. If it
  612.     does, rename it, back it up, or delete it.
  613.  
  614. 2.  Run SETUP.EXE with the -r switch, (i.e. SETUP.EXE -r).
  615.  
  616. 3.  Select the components you would like to be installed
  617.     during the silent installation.  All responses will
  618.     be recorded.
  619.  
  620. 4.  Finish the installation, and locate the file SETUP.ISS
  621.     in the Windows directory.

  1065.     steps:

  1067.     1.  Navigate to the location of the saved .VSC file.
  1068.     2.  While pointing to the .VSC file, right-click to
